I tried disc golf for the first time with a buddy from work yesterday morning. Even though we had the morning off from work the course still had quite a few people on it.
I was concerned after the first few holes about throwing my arm out but eventually I learned to 'flick' the disc right to get distance but not until near the end of the 18 'holes'?
The course was in amongst some huge trees.
I was wondering how long the forest had been there. On tope of this, the park, Pier Park, is located within the city limits of Portland. Checkout the ferns growing on the roof of this old building. What the heck was it used for?
I did see a few trails and thought about checking it out with my mtn bike another time.
Afterwards we had some Mexican food at some joint in North Portland (Denver & Portland streets). Not bad.
Spent the rest of the day trying to stay cool in 97 degree heat. Well at least I got a nap in.
Later.
