Sushi

Syun Japanese Restaurant (google maps) - the best sushi in Portland.  Wierd because it's out in the burbs and in the basement of the old library.  You'll be wondering, "Is this the right place?" Order the dragon roll, it's not on the menu.

Thai

Typhoon - a local chain that is expanding just out of Portland.  Our favorite standard order is the Tom Kah Gai soup (chicken coconut soup with mushrooms, flavored with lemongrass, lime juice and chili), Panang Curry with chicken, and Phad Thai (this isn't the best 'to go' because the noodles stick together in the box).
